Minority Export Firm of the Year is presented to Knight Aerospace Medical Systems, LLC. 

Knight Aerospace is an ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D certified, minority-owned, and women- owned business based in San Antonio, TX. The company has introduced an innovative solution, the FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND "FLYING E.R." in the healthcare industry that significantly improves aeromedical transportation, particularly for military cargo aircraft. The Hospital-grade modules designed and introduced to the market can successfully convert cargo aircraft interiors into flying medical facilities and even function independently on the ground to support field hospitals/remote areas. This innovation offered C-130 and C-17 interoperability and was immediately welcomed and acquired by Royal Canadian Air Force.

Background: In 1992, Knight Aerospace Products, Inc. was founded to provide high-quality roll- on roll-off systems and ground support equipment for cargo aircraft operators. We manufactured palletized seating, galleys, lavatories, and VIP modules for use on cargo aircraft. In 2014, Knight Aerospace Medical Systems, LLC, was formed to develop palletized Medevac products and medical modules. Our vision was to transform the transportation of medical patients who are typically transported, and therefore subject to the hostile environment in open cargo bays. In 2017, these two companies formally became one under the name Knight Aerospace Medical Systems dba Knight Aerospace.

Knight Aerospace is conveniently located in San Antonio, TX, in Port San Antonio, adjacent to Kelly Field. Our facility encompasses 160,000 square feet and includes business offices, engineering, manufacturing, and other supporting functional areas. We manufacture three primary product lines: palletized solutions, modular solutions, and aircraft ground support equipment (AGE / GSE). Our palletized and modular products are explicitly designed to interface with 463L cargo handling systems and meet or exceed the crash loads of the aircraft into which the products are installed. Our location adjacent to an 11,500-foot runway allows easy access for our primary customers, cargo aircraft operators.

Knight Aerospace enjoys an excellent reputation and continues building solid relationships with customers and vendors. We have customers in thirty-seven countries and have established relationships with several aircraft manufacturers, including Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and Leonardo. These relationships are critical to the integration and certification activities required to deliver airworthy products.
